Core editing

Build the grade, one layer at a time.

Combine global adjustments with focused masks. Every choice remains editable until export.

Layers

Every edit lives on a layer. Select a layer to edit it, use its visibility control to compare the result, and adjust Opacity for the final blend. Use the master Before/After control in the Layers header to compare all edits with the untouched original.

  • Adjustments controls tone, HSL, levels, curves, and color balance.
  • LUT applies a built-in or imported .cube transform.
  • Blur adds gaussian, box, or bokeh softening.
  • Face projects a local dodge-and-burn contour map onto detected faces.

Select a layer and press Delete or Backspace when no input is focused to remove it.

Masking

A mask restricts a layer to part of the image. White applies the full effect, black hides it, and gray creates a partial blend.

ToolUse
LinearDrag a straight gradient, such as a darker sky.
RectCreate a rectangular gradient selection.
CircleCreate a radial vignette or spotlight.
BrushPaint the effect into selected areas.
EraserPaint the effect out of selected areas.

Feather softens mask edges. Brush Size and Hardness appear for paint tools. Fill, Clear, and Invert affect the whole mask, while Copy Mask and Paste Mask reuse a mask on another layer.

Automatic masks

Use Auto FG or Auto BG to isolate a person or background. Choose a segmentation model and adjust the threshold for a tighter or looser selection. Models download separately and then run locally.

Basic tone and color

  • Brightness controls overall lightness.
  • Contrast controls the spread between shadows and highlights.
  • Micro Contrast increases or softens local tonal detail.
  • Saturation controls global color intensity.
Adjustment sections are collapsible. Select Reset Adjustments to return the whole layer to its defaults.

Color Mixer

The HSL Color Mixer targets Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Aqua, Blue, Purple, and Magenta independently. Each band has controls for Saturation, Hue, and Lightness.

Use it to deepen a blue sky without changing skin tones, shift foliage away from yellow, or reduce the saturation of a distracting color.

Levels

Levels remap the tonal range for RGB or an individual red, green, or blue channel.

  • Input black and white move the source endpoints inward to increase contrast.
  • Gamma changes midtone brightness without moving the endpoints.
  • Output black and white compress the final range for faded or lower-contrast looks.
Adjusting output levels on individual color channels is an effective way to tint shadows and highlights.

Curves

The horizontal axis represents input and the vertical axis represents output. Select the curve to add a point, then drag to shape the transition. Drag an interior point beyond the graph to remove it.

  • Use an S-curve on RGB to add contrast.
  • Lift the lower-left endpoint for raised blacks.
  • Edit red, green, or blue curves to tint specific tonal ranges.
  • Select Reset Curve to restore the current channel.

Color Balance

Three-way color balance separates Shadows, Midtones, and Highlights. Choose a range and drag inside its wheel. Direction selects the tint and distance controls strength.

Double-click a wheel to reset it. Arrow keys make fine adjustments when the wheel is focused, and Shift increases the step size.
